Jacobs has had a big year. In November 2018 her team migrated the veteran-centered vets.gov site, for which Jacobs won a Service to America Medal, to the agency’s main web address at va.gov. Since then the work has been about updating and improving the VA’s digital tools, always keeping the veteran’s user experience in mind. But despite these accomplishments, Jacobs sees so many more opportunities for project to be worked on. “There are lots of interesting and complicated problems to solve in the federal government,” she told FedScoop. “Encouraging people at all levels to think outside the box, bring new ideas and step up for new responsibilities is a good way to recognize emerging leaders and expose new approaches.”
